Principles
Three rules the record keeps.
Everything in lithopixel follows from them: the colour, the language, the way numbers are set.
-
01
The creative is the figure
The product is the ground. Chrome stays near-black stone with hairline edges, so the only colour on screen is your work and the signals that describe it.
-
02
Pressed, not posted
Every plate is immutable. Once a creative is pressed it carries its number, its date and its approvals, and it will not change.
-
03
Pixel-exact
Numbers are set in mono with tabular figures. Grids snap to four pixels. Nothing drifts, so any two plates can be compared side by side.
How it works
From proof to record.
Four steps, borrowed from the print shop.
-
Step 01
Press
Bring a creative in and press it. It becomes a plate: numbered, dated and immutable.
-
Step 02
Proof
Send the plate to your client as a proof. Every approval and rejection is recorded with a name and a time.
-
Step 03
Run
Plates that run together form an edition. Each delivery is an impression, counted where it ran.
-
Step 04
Keep
The record holds every plate, proof and number. Register any two plates to see what changed.
The record
Built to be kept.
What you press stays pressed. What it earned stays beside it.
-
Immutable plates
PressedEvery creative is a plate with a number and a press date. A change is a new plate; the old one stays exactly as it was.
-
Numbers beside the artwork
LiveImpressions, clicks and revenue sit next to the plate that earned them, set in tabular figures you can compare at a glance.
-
Proofs and approvals
ProofClients approve or reject a proof in place. The decision, the person and the time are pressed into the record.
-
Editions and impressions
ArchivedPlates that ran together are kept together. Each delivery is counted as an impression of its edition.
-
Registration
Lay one plate over another to see what moved, what changed colour and what the change did to the numbers.
-
One record per client
Every client gets a record of their own, shared with them, held for as long as the work matters.
Vocabulary
The words the record uses.
The language comes from lithography, because the work is treated the same way: pressed once, kept for good.
